Cars crash, multiple arrested in Phoenix police chase - ABC15.com (KNXV-TV)

PHOENIX - Authorities have arrested a man and woman after a police chase Tuesday morning in Phoenix.

Air15 video showed the white pickup truck speeding on Thomas Road before it ran a red light and crashed into a vehicle at 16th Street around 9:45 a.m.

Police told ABC15 on scene that it all started with a call for a traffic stop near Interstate 10 and 16th Street.

The U.S. Marshals Service was running surveillance on the vehicle, police said.

The male passenger in the pickup truck, 46-year-old Anthony "Tony" Wheeler, was wanted for aggravated assault on a police officer, authorities said.

The female driver of the pickup truck took them into a parking lot and then crashed into a police unit on their way out, police said.

The suspect vehicle then kept going and eventually ran the red light, hitting a vehicle.

A fire truck and several police units were at the crash scene at 16th Street. The victim was not seriously injured but was transported to a local hospital.

The female suspect driver has not been identified. She and her passenger were both taken into custody.
